Data-Driven Optimization of Unattended Collection and Delivery Points with a Focus on Customer Behavior Analysis

چکیده :
The expansion of e-commerce has necessitated innovative last-mile delivery solutions, with Unattended Collection and Delivery Points (UCDPs) emerging as a practical and cost-effective option. This paper introduces a comprehensive data-driven approach to optimize the strategic placement of UCDPs. Our methodology involves a two-stage process: (1) analyzing customer behavior using Buy-Until-You-Die (BTYD) models to forecast purchasing patterns and (2) a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model to determine optimal UCDP locations considering variable coverage radius and capacity. The integration of customer behavior insights into the facility location problem aims to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Through numerical experiments on real-world data, the study demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed models in optimizing UCDP placements, achieving significant cost savings, and improving service quality
