چکیده :
Reverse engineering is a deliberate method of obtaining technical information from an existing product. This method differs from the direct design process, as it involves producing a product based on the existing one to meet customer needs. Developing countries require a method to bridge the technological gap between them and advanced countries to acquire complex technologies. Among the various methods of accessing technology, reverse engineering is the most suitable. This article presents a model consisting of thirteen steps for conducting the reverse engineering process in the pump industry. These steps include economical-operational analysis, information gathering, information evaluation, initial testing and inspection, disassembly, technical information requirements, reverse engineering management planning, hardware and software analysis, preparation of technical drawings, quality control instructions, re-examination of the production process from an economic standpoint, production of a sample, and finalization of production documents. The model presented can be an optimal method for reducing the cost and time required for reverse engineering. Ultimately, the boiler feed water pump was designed and constructed using reverse engineering and the thirteen steps mentioned above.
