A Risk-Averse Bi-Objective Stochastic Model for Designing a Circular Supply Chain of Coffee Waste

چکیده :
Spent coffee grounds (SCG), due to their dispersed generation in coffee shops, high moisture content, and uncertain generation levels, create significant challenges in collection, processing, and value recovery. This paper presents a bi-objective stochastic mixed-integer linear programming model for designing a circular supply chain of SCG. The proposed model integrates collection center location, coffee shop allocation, multi-fleet vehicle routing, pre-drying operations, and final product generation. Uncertainty in SCG generation and operational costs is modeled through a scenario-based approach, while a conditional value-at-risk measure is incorporated to control economic risk. Numerical results for an instance with 100 coffee shops show that the proposed model can provide a clear trade-off between risk-averse economic cost and carbon dioxide emissions.
