Investigating and Implementing a Token-based Blockchain Model to Manage and Encourage Water Consumption Reduction

چکیده :
Water is an essential resource for life on Earth, crucial for human existence, agriculture, industry, and ecosystem sustainability. With rising global populations and the intensifying effects of climate change leading to increased water scarcity, effective management of water resources has become paramount. This paper introduces a blockchain-based framework aimed at optimizing water usage while promoting conservation efforts. Initially, the framework is outlined, followed by the development of a corresponding smart contract. Subsequently, the contract's effectiveness and performance are assessed to determine the practicality of the proposed model. A comparable system has previously been implemented for peer-to-peer energy trading.
