The investigation of uncertainty sources for the improvement of the inventory management of fast-moving consumer goods

چکیده :

The identification of challenges and the control of effective factors permit more effective management of the supply chain. One of the factors that has a significant impact on the efficiency of supply chain management is uncertainty. Consequently, an understanding of the uncertainty causes and the implementation of strategies to control them leads to improving the flow of materials and information, as well as liquidity. Furthermore, the necessity for distinctive uncertainty management strategies within the context of fast-moving consumer goods inventory is further intensified due to the accelerated turnover of these items. This study commenced by identifying and delineating the underlying causes of uncertainty within the supply chains of the goods under investigation. Subsequent to this, questionnaires were designed and distributed to industry experts, who were tasked with prioritizing the aforementioned uncertainty causes within a four-level supply chain, which included suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and customers. Finally, the study investigated the mutual influence of these causes on one another, and some solutions to reduce supply chain uncertainty were proposed.
