A Graph-Based Three-Dimensional Building Evacuation Model Using Risk-Weighted Shortest Path Analysis

چکیده :
Efficient emergency evacuation planning is essential for minimizing casualties and improving occupant safety in multi-story buildings. This study presents a graph-based three-dimensional evacuation model that represents building spaces as interconnected nodes and edges across multiple floors. The proposed approach integrates travel distance and risk level into a weighted graph to estimate evacuation costs more realistically than distance-based models. A comprehensive graph is constructed by combining horizontal connections within each floor and vertical links through staircases, while the shortest evacuation routes are determined using Dijkstra’s algorithm. The model provides optimal evacuation paths from every accessible location to the nearest safe exit and identifies critical nodes with the highest evacuation cost. A three-dimensional visualization of the building graph is also developed to facilitate analysis of evacuation routes and structural connectivity. The proposed framework offers a computationally efficient and scalable decision-support tool for emergency evacuation planning and can be extended to larger and more complex building environments.
