Using Redmine as a Computerized Maintenance Management System for Efficient Asset Tracking

چکیده :

Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) are essential tools for effectively managing the maintenance operations of industrial facilities and infrastructure. While commercial CMMS software solutions are available, the high costs associated with them can be prohibitive, especially for small to medium-sized organizations. This paper explores the feasibility of repurposing the open-source project management platform Redmine as a CMMS for maintenance applications. Despite Redmine’s primary focus on issue tracking and project management, the study demonstrates that through its various entities, the organization of assets, work orders, scheduling, and equipment information can be effectively implemented. The case study describes the outcomes of using Redmine as a CMMS, including the integration of plugins and APIs.
